Minutes silence and some prayers for the dead.

 The government has asked us to remember the NHS dead with a minutes silence at 11.00 am today.

So  just before 11.00 am I intent to go into the church and light the Easter Pascal candle and remember to pray for the dead after i have done a minutes silence. You may want to pray for the dead yourself. It does not matter if you are at home or shopping just pause and then pray.

Sycamore: What do you believe?

How can we find happiness? What’s the meaning of life? Is there a God? Does prayer make a difference?

The Shrine is delighted to present the faith exploration series Sycamore, presented by Fr Stephen Wang (www.sycamore.fm).

Sycamore is an informal course about the Christian faith and its relevance for life today.  Each session involves a short film and discussion questions to get you thinking.

The Timetable

The 10 sessions will be broadcast daily on the Shrine’s livestream from Wednesday 29th April until Friday 8th May, with each episode shown at 10.30am and then repeated again at 4pm:

"At this time where we are sadly denied being able to gather together in prayer in our lovely churches we still have all the usual expenses to meet. At Easter the collection would have been for your priest and of course this has not taken place. The heating was turned off in the church once we were instructed to close it but there are so many other expenses in both churches and the presbytery.

This terrible disease has meant that many of our parishioners are suffering financially and this appeal is not addressed to them. However many of us are not being impacted financially and it would greatly helpful if you could set up standing orders to pay your usual offerings directly to the bank accounts as shown below.
